Greek Shredded Beef

Greek Shredded Beef

Greek style shredded beef in the Instant Pot or slow cooker. Throw in a warm pita with creamy Tzatziki sauce or build your own bowls. Easy meal with a ton of flavor!

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 LB RAIKES BEEF ROAST
  • 2 TBSP OLIVE OIL
  • 1 LARGE RED ONION, SLICED (DIVIDED)
  • 1 TBSP GARLIC, MINCED
  • 1/2 C BEEF OR BONE BROTH
  • 2 TSP SALT
  • 1 TBSP CUMIN
  • 1 TBSP DRIED PARSLEY
  • 1/2 TSP GARLIC POWDER
  • 1/2 TSP OREGANO
  • 1/4 TSP CORIANDER
  • 1/4 TSP ROSEMARY
  • 1/4 TSP RED PEPPER FLAKES
  • 1/4 TSP CINNAMON
  • 1/8 TSP GINGER
  • 1/8 TSP TUMERIC
  • 1/8 TSP CAYENNE PEPPER

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

Combine all the dry rub ingredients together in small bowl. Cut beef into 3” chunks, season beef with all of the rub.

Turn Instant Pot on to the “Saute” setting. When it is hot, add the olive oil. Brown beef in batches, being careful not to crowd them in the pan. Remove meat as it browns to a plate. When all meat is browned, turn off saute setting.

Return meat to pot. Add half of the red onion, garlic and broth. Place lid, making sure valve is set to “seal”. Pressure cook on high for 60 minutes. Let pressure cooker release naturally for 10-15 minutes. Then move valve over to vent, being careful not to get burned from steam. Open lid and remove beef to shred.

Serve with rice, tomatoes, cucumber and remaining red onion, a squeeze of lemon juice for a bowl type meal. Or on a pita for the gyro experience.
